Jul. 1st, 2008 @ 12:15 pm Thank you Uncle Robert...still pissed you left
One of My Favorite Authors Robert Asprin whom I have loved since I was about ten, and who has lived in the French Quarter for last twenty years died one Week before I moved here, Ass-Hat! However, before he died in fact very very shortly before he died he finished a book. It was a book that was like nothing he had ever written, diffrent voice, diffrent setting and is among other things, including poker playing dragons, about a guy who has spent his entire life living in comfy colledge town and has just moved to New Orleans.
I kid you not darlins there is an entire chapter that reads like he is telling me where to go and what to see, and to not feel bad about being so overwhelmed, it even includes the pub I have been going to.
I am not claiming that some benificial power had this amazing man write this book for little old me, but damn if it ain one hell of a sweet coincedence. Particular when you consider I am the one who just happened to see the book on it intake from cataloguing in the library. This is the man who made me want to write and this is his last book, ever. just some nice food for the thought processes.
Favorite quote

"The French Quarter was an unending sideshow of Tastelessness. It was steamy by day and seamy by night. Griffen fell in love with it immediately."

Jun. 14th, 2008 @ 10:47 am Good by to Timm Russert
The cumulative I.Q. of the entire American Population dropped quite a few points, points we could ill afford, yesterday when, as I'm sure you know, American Journalist, Tim Russert died.
This officially counts as the shittiest birthday present of all time.
I really liked and respected this man. I found him to be both fair and tough. He managed to combine intelligence with integrity in a was that seemed so effortless it made one question how it could be so rare. He seemed like a man who was honestly interested in testing and understanding those who sought political power not just going for soundbites, but really wanting them to clearly state their views and defend. In short this was the kind of man I have dreamed journalist were suppose to be. I fear his kind too few and too far between.
He made me want to be a better American.
Good-bye sir, and thank you.

Have I been here for only a week, a whole week

sometimes it feels like years sometimes mere seconds.

can we say dicombobulation

any advice from those who done the major move thing would be greatly appreciated.
I wonder if some of my discombobulation comes from not having done this kinda thing in over 12 years.
still small price for having life dream come true. :>

Jun. 5th, 2008 @ 12:34 pm why I love being a librarian
Had a patron tell my I should get a raise for helping him fill out some job apps. Had to refrain from telling him I just did.
It is amazing how much a simple honest thank you will make your whole day shine a little brighter.

on a more tech note:
Has anyone had any experience Horizon and Out look. seems pretty strait forward but I was wondering if there might be some hidden snags I should be learly of.

I can't belive how much my job actually involves me asking people to talk, and even sometimes sing a little quiter. hehehe
I actually am a shushing librarian.

Hug y'all hug all y'all

May. 25th, 2008 @ 02:28 pm I think I may be dying, that or really really hung over
The Tequilla lied it does not love me. It wants me to die a painfull blurry death.

My love to all who made it last night and those that couldnt. Particularly to Bodlon for his valant if doomed attempt to keep me from being that girl.
I think this will be tha LAST time I imbibe such an impressively inapropriate amount of alchohol for quite a freakin while.
that being said
last night is definitely going down in the annals of awesomeness.
Im fairly certain that at one point I was literaly dancing with whole club at that same time.
And cute blonde dance boy told me that when I danced I shined like a blazing scemitar.
Not sure what it means but I like the way it sounds.
Well I think I going to slink back into my cave of blankets and pillows until the world stops being so bright and loud.
Love you darlings.

I have a phone interview with Chicago Public Library on Tuesday.
So I was hoping that all those with Library experience, especialy on hiring commitees could shoot me a few practice questions for me to work on over the weekend. Since I dont handle compitetion so well I have decided to veiw this as a practical exstension of my comps and rather than trying to beat everybody else out I am simply going for the highest possible grade I can get.
any cure for nervous hicups would also be appreciated.

goin to probably being re-posting this a few times of the next couple days just to increase the chance of everybody seeing it.
