One of My Favorite Authors Robert Asprin whom I have loved since I was about ten, and who has lived in the French Quarter for last twenty years died one Week before I moved here, Ass-Hat! However, before he died in fact very very shortly before he died he finished a book. It was a book that was like nothing he had ever written, diffrent voice, diffrent setting and is among other things, including poker playing dragons, about a guy who has spent his entire life living in comfy colledge town and has just moved to New Orleans. I kid you not darlins there is an entire chapter that reads like he is telling me where to go and what to see, and to not feel bad about being so overwhelmed, it even includes the pub I have been going to. I am not claiming that some benificial power had this amazing man write this book for little old me, but damn if it ain one hell of a sweet coincedence. Particular when you consider I am the one who just happened to see the book on it intake from cataloguing in the library. This is the man who made me want to write and this is his last book, ever. just some nice food for the thought processes. Favorite quote
"The French Quarter was an unending sideshow of Tastelessness. It was steamy by day and seamy by night. Griffen fell in love with it immediately." Rober Asprin Dragon Wild |
